The hard coating of high abrasive property and low coefficient of friction make it have successful applications on moulds and dies. The typical coefficient of friction of coating ranges between 0.2 till 0.7, while that of DLC coatings can be as low as 0.06. Such properties of hard coatings will increase mould release property.
